Manor Farm currently operates two mixed lakes: the Blunham Lake and the Becks Lake. A new 40 peg match canal is currently under construction and will be open later during 2004.

Bait, groundbait, boilies, hooks, weights, floats, etc as well as equipment to hire and EA rod licences are all available from our Bait Hut which is open from 8am to 7.30pm at weekends / Bank Holidays and from 10am to 7.30pm on weekdays. All tickets should be purchased from the Bait Hut before fishing. Those anglers who arrive before the Bait Hut is open may start fishing but should come back to purchase their tickets later to avoid the £5.00 bank surcharge.

BLUNHAM LAKE. This is a mature 2-acre lake surrounded by a fringe of reeds. The lake has 20 swims including one we are currently making accessible for wheelchairs. The lake is about 500m from the main car park, and so a trolley is advisable, although those with walking difficulties or the elderly can park their cars in the disabled car park within 20m of the lake.

The lake is stocked with a mixture of smaller coarse fish including: roach to 1lb, perch to 2lb, rudd to 1lb, tench to 6lb, bream to 4lb and carp now reaching 15lb. For March 2004 we are adding a large stock of smaller carp to about 8", which should prove some excellent sport for the pleasure and match angler throughout the year.

This lake fishes well as the water begins to warm up, and is a good starter lake for juniors to be introduced to the sport. During the summer evenings the lake produces a lot of small tench, which have bred on in the lake on their own. Perch are also prolific during the summer months.

Good baits are red maggots and worms fished lightly with a waggler float. Fishing around the margins is usually successful.

Please would all anglers dip their nets in the dip tanks provided, thankyou.

Please note no cars are allowed around the lakes.

BECKS LAKE. This is a 4-acre lake, which was stocked with a range of small coarse fish in the winter of 1998, and left to develop unfished for a few years. Fishing on this lake started in 1999 and we were very surprised with the results. Most people were broken on light line and elastic, so be warned these small fish have grown considerably. Catches on this lake include carp to 25lb, many big bream including one to 12.5lb, pike to 21lb, as well as roach, rudd and perch. For the colder months we add 200 x12oz rainbow trout, which provide excellent sport when many of the other coarse fish are not catching. Please do not put trout in keepnets as they will not survive.

The lake is also popular for night anglers, with some good bags of double figure carp being caught as well as plenty of 8lb plus bream.

Good baits on this lake include worms and red maggots, although the carp are more interested in luncheon meat, boilies and sweetcorn.

Please would all anglers dip their nets in the dip tanks provided, thankyou.

Please note no cars are allowed around the lakes.
